Houston Asian American Archive (HAAA)

The Houston Asian American Archive (HAAA) is the Chao Center for Asian Studies' award-winning outreach program bridging the Center's research and Houston Asian American communities by documenting Houston's Asian American immigrant experience. It is housed at the Woodson Research Center, Fondren Library of Rice University.

Mission:

The mission of the Houston Asian American Archive is to foster a deeper understanding of Houston's immigrant history. HAAA conducts and collects oral histories and preserves letters, diaries, photographs, newspapers and other records and materials created or collected by individuals, businesses and organizations in order to document the unique cultural legacy of Asian Americans as local residents and as transnational and global citizens. It also provides physical and digital access to archival materials documenting Asian American communities in Houston.
