The Chao Center for Asian Studies aims to produce scholarship on Asian and Asian American themes that broadens traditional understanding of Asia by considering Asian Studies in an interdisciplinary, transhistorical, and transnational context. The Center's primary research thrust is through the Transnational Asia Research Initiative (TARI), which supports the work of a team of postdoctoral research fellows.
